‘Drive’ gets parked

April 30th, 2007

If you look at my Tivo season pass schedule, you’ll most likely find that it’s filled with about 50% of programming shown on FOX. Between ‘House’, ‘24′ (as bad as it is this season), ‘Prison Break’, and yes, even ‘American Idol’, I get my weekly fix of non-premium channel television.

About 3 weeks ago, I was excited to find that I had found another action-packed series that would fill the void of ‘Prison Break’ until the next season, and make ‘24′ seem even more pathetic than it’s already been this season. When ‘Drive’ premiered with a double-episode and showed the promise of fast cars, reckless driving, and booty, I figured I’d be in for exactly what the May sweeps call for — me glued to the TV and cursing at FOX for making me digest the latest cliffhanger for an entire week.

Instead, I’m cursing at the FOX guys for another reason. How the hell can you pull ‘Driven’ off the air after 3 weeks? So yeah, it may have gotten less than stellar ratings so far, but it’s called building an audience! So the last two episodes produced will be shown online this summer. Yet two episodes is not enough to answer all the questions posed by the first episode — heck, we don’t even know the people behind the race! You already f’ed up ‘24′ this season, why are you ruining my Monday nights?!? Oh well, I can never get enough ‘House’ so bring on the repeats.

Let’s try this again

I remember the days when I used to have all sorts of fun keeping this place up and figuring out what to add next. I would never hesitate to spend countless hours at a time trying to get something just right. All-nighters were a non-issue because I could always find some time to sleep. Then I graduated from college, got a real job, and decided that the consequences may be harsher if I fall asleep during the daily staff meeting at work than if I just fell asleep in class.

So here we go, another attempt to get this web site back up and running. I don’t really care if anyone will ever read what I say, but it’ll be nice to get my URL back out in public. For the record, I believe this is attempt number 3 or 4 at doing this. However, this time I’m starting from scratch rather than trying to get all my broken and outdated scripts to work again.
